In 1645, the bells may have been removed by Cromwell’s troops and melted down to make munitions.

Holy Trinity Church, Horfield has the smallest bell tower in Bristol - the only one with just five bells.

The west tower is the oldest part of the church visible today. The three oldest bells were cast in 1773.
