Horfield Bellringers Trip 2019
The ‘Horfield bellringers and friends’ had a lovely ringing day on Saturday 13th April 2019.
The weather was a typical warm spring sunny day.
We hired a minibus from Orchard school, Bristol; our driver was Lawrence and our Mascot Gaston (cocker spaniel dog).
We went to Chipping Sodbury, Wapley, Coalpit Heath and Frampton Cotterell towers, hence this giving us a wide experience of different bells and improved our bell handling. We had lunch at
‘The Folly’, Emerson Green, service was a little slow so regrettable we didn’t have time for puddings, but we had endless supply of doughnuts in the minibus!
Ringing on 8 bells was quite a challenge for most Horfield ringers, even Plain Bob Triples was attempted and many personal goals were achieved e.g. ringing plain hunt on 8 bells.
Everyone enjoyed the day and this trip provided an opportunity to catch up with old friends and strengthen our ringing network in Bristol.
